just found out bill murray lives a block up and over from me. which mathematically speaking means he eats his kelloggs every morning about 500-600ft from me. hello there, sir! care to join me for an evening stroll?

this song is still a piece of my inside.

as much as i love the city, most fervently on a summer morning, i'm a greedy girl. i want it all! especially now do i want to sit on my porch in the boring suburbs and spend the day wandering box-store-land and chain-diner-mania and metro-park-madness with run-of-the-mill ohio folk. please?
naw, it's time for work. damn.

I am of the most greedy kind!
A life in the largest city lights, majestic and alive
And I ask for a quiet porch to sit on but after
one day
in what one may call the country and I am
Bored as a goat.

There is no way to please me except by
Consuming me.
Taking my insides and flipping them out so they see what I feel instead
Of feeling what I see.
There is no changing me. You are the same too you know.
Just haven’t found it.
The boy or the girl who runs wild and free but has no countryside to sit still in.
Or even worse, that damn suburb which you could drive around with your eyes shut but you miss when gone too long.
I’m convinced of this, you really can’t have it all at once.

went to the highline and found myself both impressed and at ease. its elevation creates an eye-to-eye view of the expansion of urban life and all of its geometric decoration sitting side-by-side the calm hudson river in the evening sun. the thing of note here though is really the history of the meat trains running through what we call, suitably, the meatpacking district up through to west chelsea. and this overgrown unused old track bought by non profits and given a makeover. its quaint and refreshing.
